What is BSides Maine?

A community-built hacker conference focused on curiosity, hands-on exploration, and sharing real projects. Talks, workshops, hardware, reverse engineering, weird builds, and whatever else the community brings.

How much does it cost?

General admission will be $25 (plus eventbrite fees) to keep the con accessible. Students can attend for free through our scholarship program.

When and where is it happening?

When: May 30 from 9am to 5pm
Location: Hannaford Hall, Portland Maine

Who can attend?

Anyone who’s curious. Hackers, makers, breakers, builders, students, professionals, hobbyists... all welcome. No credentials required.

Can I submit a talk or workshop?

Yes. The CFP is open! Hint: We're looking for Projects, experiments, research, failures, hardware builds, unconventional hacks, reverse engineering, AI misuse, RF, defensive insights, and anything that feels real instead of corporate-polished. Submit here: https://www.papercall.io/bsides-maine

Will there be hands-on activities?

Definitely. Expect hardware hacking tables, informal demos, workshops, and show-and-tell from the local hacker community.

Are sponsorships available?

Yes. Multiple sponsorship tiers. Sponsors help keep the event community-driven, locally built, and free for students/job seekers. Check out our sponsorship page here: https://www.bsidesmaine.org/sponsor-bsides-maine

How can I volunteer?

We’ll open volunteer sign-ups soon. Volunteers make the con run — from registration to A/V to room wrangling.
